ROLE TITLE: HOME CARE ASSISTANT
REPORTING TO: Home Support Manager or Designee
LOCATION: Supporting Clients within their Homes & Communities in
Dublin South West
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
At CareGivers Ireland (CGI), we are dedicated to enhancing the quality
of life for our clients by providing compassionate and high-quality
home care services. We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated
individuals to join our team as Home Care Assistants.
As a Home Care Assistant with CGI, you will play a crucial role in
delivering exceptional care and support to our clients, ensuring their
dignity and respect are upheld at all times.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide excellent care, support, and assistance to clients in
their homes and communities, enabling them to lead independent lives.
* Offer a range of support in daily activities, including personal
care, meal preparation, social engagement, and household support, in
alignment with individualised care plans and CGI Policies and
Procedures.
* Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control policies, training, and
best practices.
* Prioritise the client's needs, ensuring their wishes and choices
are central to the support provided.
* Maintain accurate client care records and other documentation as
directed by CGI.
* Foster companionship and contribute to the social well-being of
clients in line with their care plans.
* Ensure the safety and security of clients according to established
policies.
* Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards.
* Communicate courteously and respectfully with clients, their
families and other representatives and/or colleagues and management.
* Follow Health and Safety policies, report hazards, and take
responsibility for personal Health and Safety.
* Comply with CGI's organisational policies and procedures,
reporting concerns to the Line Manager.
* Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and training sessions
as required.
* Perform any other duties as directed by the Line Manager or
designate.
HOME CARE ASSISTANTS WILL:
* Deliver high standards of care and support with compassion.
* Demonstrate sensitivity and compassion toward clients and their
families.
* Possess or be willing to complete a FETAC Level 5 Award in
homecare/healthcare or a related area, with a commitment to ongoing
relevant training.
* Exhibit trustworthiness, reliability, flexibility, and respect at
all times.
* Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Successfully complete Manual Handling, People Handling, and First
Aid training, updating as necessary.
* Undergo Garda vetting and maintain ongoing Garda clearance.
* Report concerns of abuse immediately to the Line Manager and
comply with Child Protection policy/Children First, attending
Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children First Training.
* Adhere to CGI's operational policies and procedures.
* Be a resident in Ireland and have the relevant and valid working
permit in possession.
* Weekend availability is required, with the following work pattern
available:
* Monday - Friday (AM) with 2 in 4 weekends worked
* Monday - Friday (PM) with 2 in 4 weekends worked
* Monday - Friday (AM / PM) with 1 in 4 weekends worked
* Weekends Only

* Weekdays: € * per hour
